It is what motivated me to learn Webflow as well, and I'm so grateful for the amazing women I met through Twitter up to this day." It was eye-opening and very inspiring for me. "When I first joined Twitter, the Webflow community was the first time I saw an abundance of women in tech who had strong platforms. It becomes almost isolating because you can't always have your experiences understood." She continued to share that as "a female designer in a country where very few of us are recognized, you get used to being the only woman on the creative team. In the meantime, I’ll be selling Chevrolets in Metro Detroit. I am remaining hopeful and my search continues! Overall I think this will only improve my skills once I get back into a B2B sales role. I’m sending out personalized emails, connecting with hiring managers on LinkedIn, and doing more to get my applications noticed. I have found that the layoff has made me more creative in my job search. Staying positive through all this is tough, but it’s essential. The job market is tough right now and although I’ve had many interviews, I’ve also seen a lot of hiring processes being placed on hold and received a ton of the dreaded “different direction” emails. I am still searching for an SDR position in the tech space. I didn’t think I would have to go back to selling cars, but I am adaptable and ultimately lucky to have this to fall back on. Going through a layoff seems like a total failure. I really enjoyed working for my previous employer and I spent a lot of time working to making this career change to get into B2B software sales from retail car sales. I’m sure everyone who has recently went though a layoff can agree that times have been tough. I’ve seen plenty of posts about layoffs in the tech space over the past few months and I am unfortunately part of that group as well. This seems like an all too common story these days.
